Bakgrund: Hjärtrehabiliteringsprogram är ett sekundärt förebyggande program utformat för att förbättra kardiovaskulär hälsa efter hjärtrelaterade sjukdomar. Det är ett individanpassat program som utbildar patienten om sjukdomen och livsstilsförändringar. Deltagande i hjärtrehabiliteringsprogrammet kan minska risken för död och förhindrar återinläggning på sjukhus hos patienten.

Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av rehabilitering efter genomgått hjärtinfarkt.

Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på 12 vetenskapliga artiklar med 11 kvalitativa artiklar och en mixedmetod artikel hämtade från databaserna PubMed och CINAHL. Artiklarna granskades i enlighet med Kristensson (2014) och Sophiahemmet Högskolans kvalitetsgranskningsunderlag. För att sammanställa resultat, användes en integrerad dataanalys som metod.

Resultat: Vid analys av artiklar identifierades tre huvudteman och flera underteman. Dessa är Upplevelse av stöd, Upplevelse av hinder och barriärer och Upplevelse av egenvård. Vid genomförandet av litteraturöversikten valdes Dorothea Orems omvårdnadsteori. Denna teori tar fasta på individens förmåga att ta hand om sig själv och andra. Litteraturöversikten identifierade att några patienter upplevde barriärer i någon form vid deltagande i hjärtrehabiliteringsprogrammet. Patientens egna resurser och sjuksköterskans stöd i form av kunskap, undervisning och rådgivning var hjälpsam vid hjärtrehabiliteringsprogrammet.

Slutsats: Litteraturöversikten identifierade att kunskap och information till patienten om deras tillstånd spelar stor roll för patienten på väg mot tillfriskande. Detta betonar vikten av sjuksköterskans roll vid omvårdnadsprocessen där sjuksköterskan kan motivera och vägleda patienter vid eventuella hinder, ge utbildning och undervisning till patienten och närstående och stötta patienter med sina färdigheter.

Background: A cardiac rehabilitation program is a secondary prevention program designed to improve cardiovascular health after heart-related diseases. It is an individualized program that educates the patient about disease and lifestyle changes. Participation in the cardiac rehabilitation program can reduce the risk of death and prevent the readmission to the hospital of the patient.

Aim: The aim was to describe patients' experiences of rehabilitation after myocardial infarction.

Method: A literature review based on 12 scientific articles, 11 qualitative articles and a mixed-method article retrieved from the databases PubMed and CINAHL. The articles were reviewed in accordance with Kristensson's (2014) and Sophiahemmet University's quality review documentation. To compile the results, an integrated data analysis was used as a method.

Results: Upon analysis of the articles, three main themes and several sub-themes were identified. These are the experiences of support, the experiences of obstacles and barriers, and the experiences of self-care. Dorothea Orem's nursing theory was chosen in the implementation of the literature review. This theory focuses on the individual's ability to take care of himself and others. The literature review identified that some patients experienced barriers in some form when participating in the cardiac rehabilitation program. The patient's own resources and the nurse's support in the form of knowledge, teaching, and counseling were helpful in the cardiac rehabilitation program.

Conclusions: The literature review identified that knowledge and information to the patient about their condition play a major role for the patient on the road to recovery. This emphasizes the importance of the nurse's role in the nursing process, where the nurse can motivate and guide patients in case of any obstacles, provide education and instruction to the patient and relatives, and support patients with their skills.
